If you father loves gadgets he would probably enjoy a solar power shaver… no need for batteries or expensive adapters if you’re traveling (though charging takes between 8-12 hours). If he enjoys spending time on the sofa treat your dad for an universal energy saving remote, it can control four different devices and will save you over 90% of standby power consumption

If your father has green fingers or likes the outdoors try to find him some new gardening tools and maybe personalize them or treat him for solar garden lamps.

For those between you with crafty skills try to draw on mugs or plates at a lovely clay cafes, you can create artwork from your child’s foot print, fingers prints or just let your child experiment and have fun. For those who like to knit… make your dad lovely special sleepers.

Surprise your father with a super delicious breakfast in bed… or extra hours of sleep.

Here are a few creative options:
1. Bunny ears bonnet- create a simple ring from paper… measure your child’s head first to get it right than glue two large bunny ears made from paper or old magazines and cover with tissue paper… don’t forget to be colourful- yellow, orange, purple.

2. Traditional bonnet- use an old straw hat and
add a ribbon (any colour would do) and flowers- fresh,
dry or paper made flowers…

3. Super creative bonnet- try to construct a unique bespoke bonnet for your child… you can choose a theme- create a flower shape hat or little chic yellow hat… or a mix style bonnet. Remember, the more colourful and unique the better!

For the tree huger lover - plant a tree and name it after your loved one. Flowers are always a great choice… but if you want a better shelf life than try organic flower seeds by Seeds of Change.

Lactose tolerant loved ones would enjoy a selection of organic chocolates… by Green & Black or Cocoa Loco. Try to bake something yourself… whether it’s heart shaped cookies or a cake, both ways there’s less packaging to recycle.

If you’re thinking of cards… please look into recycled cards or for a crafty version make one of your own from existing newspapers or magazines.

Happy new year… we would like to share some of our new year’s resolutions.
First, green new year’s resolutions… Help reducing carbon emission… try walking and cycling more… especially short distances. Change light bulb to energy saving bulbs… every little bit can help and don’t forget to turn off the light when leaving a room (even though it sounds like something your mother would tell you to do). Stop purchasing bottled drinks- not to mention there’s less to recycle, but also reduce the C02 emission from the journey itself. Keep an eye on green decision to be made next year by the Transport committee and by the Department of Energy and Climate Change.

Some other resolutions… support a charity organisation. Sadley there are too many to choose from, some deal with green and ethical matters, some of human rights, others of animal rights… an endless list.

here are some facts about green cheeky monkey
organic cotton…

Our organic cotton is free from pesticides and nasty chemicals. It’s soft and designed for little sprout’s sensitive skin.

Unlike conventionally grown cotton the organic cotton fibers are less likely to be abused and damaged in the growing and the production process hence it’s much softer.

Many products claiming to be organic may have grown organically but still have come in contact with certain chemicals on the way. Some dyes and bleach may cause skin irritation but also pollute the air and surface water therefore it was important for us at green cheeky monkey to choose an environmentally friendly printer, the UK Soil Association’s only certified organic t-shirt printer.

We’re proud to say that our organic baby clothes are certified by the UK Soil Association and by Global Organic Textile Standard. Every step, from growing, to the final product is monitored to maintain the high standard of our organic cotton, including storage, processing, packaging and shipping.
